Junior Ranger

Visit the National Parks, do the activities, and earn a badge! Then, take the Junior Ranger pledge:

I (your name), recognize that this park is my park, too.

I promise to help take care of my park. I will do what I can to help keep the park clean.

I will treat animals and plants with respect and leave them in their park home.

I will learn about the importance of nature and our duty to protect it, and will share what I learn with my friends and family.

Help Nature

Water:

  • When you’re washing your hands, turn off the water during the scrubbing part.

  • Take some showers instead of baths.

  • Don’t pollute streams, lakes, or any water formations.

Electricity:

  • Turn off the lights when you leave the room or house.

  • Turn off the air or heat when you are not home.

  • Pretend to be pioneers and use only candles and flashlights.

Reduce, reuse, recycle:

  • Buy a reusable water bottle.

  • Use cloth napkins.

  • Start a compost pile.

  • Trade unwanted books and toys with friends.

  • Eat up leftovers by having a “cleaning out the fridge” meal.

Wild Animals

Endangered animals:

  • Wolves

  • Giant pandas

  • Black rhinos and white rhinos

  • Siberian tigers

  • Amur leopards

  • Polar bears

  • Elephants

How you can help:
